SA's got talent

Shoe! my fellow South Africans. I am blown away at the amount of talent our country exhibits. Every evening I can not wait to see the best on SABC2. 21:30PM IS AN JAWBRAKER! Here I give a little story on the show that has taken South Africa by storm from: www.mio.co.za

After an hour of spellbinding live performances and a nail biting wait for the votes to be counted, the first two contestants through to Thursday’s grand finale of SA’s Got Talent on SABC 2 are 19 year old Johannesburg beatboxer George Avakian and 18 year old guitar playing genius Louwtjie Rothman from Cape Town.

George Avakian was the publics’ choice to go through to final ; whilst the judges chose Louwtjie Rothman as the second semi finalist over 8 year old ballroom dancers Cameron Lombard and Natasha Jacobs. Both semi finalists now go through to the grand finale and a chance of winning R250, 000.00 in Thursday night’s final.

Last night was the first of three live semi finals, featuring seven Top 21 contestants performing in front of a live audience and the resident judges Shado, Randall and Ian. And although the nerves in the auditorium were high, the crowds roared with appreciation for their favourite artists. But it was the last chance for 40 year old voice coach, F.A.I.T.H. (Ndukwana) from Goodwood; 28 year old physical comedian from Marina DaGama in Cape Town Jody Kleinhans, enigmatic teenage hip hop dance crew Roses from Johannesburg and the unique traditional dance group Tshwaraganang from Luka, North West Province, who along with Lombard and Jacobs didn’t get enough votes to stay in the contest and now pack their bags for home.

The battle for the next two places in the grand finale continues tonight when a further seven semi finalists compete in SA’s Got Talent proudly brought to you by Cadbury lunch bar. Tuesday nights show features dancers, drummers, hip hop artists and magicians, namely Daniel Petersen III & Daniel Petersen; Darren Rajbal; Adino Trapani & Astro The Dinosaur; Cleo Filander; Soccer Mania; Ubumbano and Show Stopaz.

The public can vote via SMS or by calling the IVR line. SMS ‘talent’ followed by the number 1-7 which represents the act each night. Send the SMS to 34768. Each SMS will be charged at R2.00 or call 083 913 4768 (IVR line) and follow the voice prompts. Calls charged at standard cellular rates. VAS rates apply.

SA’s Got Talent semi final live shows will broadcast on Tuesday 10th November and Wednesday 11th with the grand finale on Thursday 12th November from 7:30pm to 8:30pm with a results show from 9:30pm to 10pm on SABC 2.
